The one where I actually sound athletic because I say something about "cross-training"

Running is stressful on the knees and ankles. Therefore, in order to stay in shape without killing your leg joints, you should try cross-training. Cross-training can include swimming, biking, pretty much anything aerobic that avoids pounding repeatedly on those leg joints.

For me, this is playing video games.

Let me explain.

A few weeks ago, my husb and I decided to add an XBox to our family. It was the first large purchase that we've made, since...well...ever, I think. We added the Kinect sensor, which tracks all the player's movements. A week or so later, Dance Central came in the mail. Awesomeness ensued.

Dance Central is kinda like Dance Dance Revolution, only with arms. And heads, shoulders, knees, and toes. It tells me what dance moves I need to make, and I make them (or try to). It also keeps track of my heart rate and calories burned. And it makes me feel cool because I know the latest songs and can dance to them. Whether or not that actually makes me cool, is debatable. Probably not, but let me just think that it does and leave me and my fantasy baseball team in peace.

Sorry, dear reader...

I apologize for not posting recently. Rest assured, I am still alive and running.

Well...alive and walking. I can briskly walk all 3 miles, with some jogging thrown in.

Update on my progress:
Can run 1/4 mile without stopping- might have gone longer if it wasn't so cold that my lungs froze.
Can do entire 5K in 45 minutes. That's with hills. The course we're going on will be flat.
Can fit more comfortably into pants.

All are good things.

It's late and I'm tired. I promise I'll post more later.
